The ACU Student Choir brings the tradition and beauty of music to the university community through performances at graduation ceremonies, campus liturgies and formal university events.

Music is a powerful tool to draw people to the beauty of God as creator, to enhance the ambience of any gathering, to lead people to private and public prayer or devotion, and to build community. Catholic universities have always recognised music – especially sacred music – as an expression of faith and celebration.

With a strong focus on liturgical and sacred music, the ACU Student Choir brings the tradition and beauty of music to the wider ACU community. Established in 2014, and with a presence on the Brisbane, Melbourne, North Sydney and Strathfield campuses, the Student Choir performs at graduation ceremonies, campus liturgies and formal university functions as individual campus choirs. Every year the campus choirs gather as a combined national choir for a masterclass and gala concert. The National ACU Student Choir has also performed at a range of significant events, including the 2015 International Federation of Catholic Universities’ conference in Melbourne and the ACU 25th Anniversary Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney.

The Choir offers choristers the opportunity to extend their musical knowledge, develop their ability as singers, perform some of the world’s best choral repertoire, make new friends, and engage with the wider community.
