Caroline Field
Curatorial Manager, ACU Art Collection
In August 2016, Caroline commenced her role as curator of the ACU Art Collection. She specialises in collection management, exhibitions, commissioned projects, art museum policy and strategic development, research and writing. Her reputation for and success in promoting Australian contemporary art is due to her proactive approach and her commitment to the visual arts sector.
Caroline has a Master of Arts in Art History and a Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Melbourne; a Graduate Diploma in Museum Studies from Deakin University; and a Graduate Diploma in Fine Art Printmaking and a Bachelor of Arts in Painting from RMIT University. Her previous positions include manager and curator of the Museum of Art, Deakin University; manager of the Derby & Smith Street galleries and gallery biographer at Australian Galleries, Collingwood; director of the Horsham Art Gallery; and art teacher at Red Cliffs Secondary College, Victoria. She is a board member of the Georges Mora Fellowship.
Philippa Murdoch
Arts Services Officer, ACU Art Collection
Philippa has a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney. She has previously worked at the National Theatre, London; the British Museum, London; English National Opera, London; and the University of Sydney. Since 2019, she has assisted Caroline with cataloguing and developing the ACU Art Collection, installing artworks across the ACU’s eight campuses, processing art donations through the Australian Government’s Cultural Gift Program, and producing three substantive publications on the ACU Art Collection.
